This blog is an attempt to educate ppl on the crimes of the US Wall Street financier oligarchy.
War is a symptom of finance capital, not Al Qaeda. I refute King Hubbert’s Peak Oil. I refute Global Warming. I refute Al Gore’s Green Army. I refute Carbon Taxes. I refute Thomas Malthus. I refute 9/11. I refute the War on Terror. I refute Samuel Huntington’s “Clash of Civilizations.” I refute the Federal Reserve.
And I say the only way out of this global financial fiasco is FDR New Deal economics. Build infrastructure and produce our way out of the depression.
As for the other issues I’m generally with the platform of Dennis Kucinich:
- Creating a single-payer not-for-profit system of universal health care that provides full coverage for all Americans by passage of the United States National Health Insurance Act.
If we can spend $500 billion a year on weapons then we can have free health care.
- The immediate, phased withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq; replacing them with an international security force.
- Guaranteed quality education for all; including free pre-kindergarten and college for all who want it.
- Immediate withdrawal from the World Trade Organization (WTO) and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
This withdrawal needs to include the IMF & GATT treaty, which in my view are much more dangerous. I would say that the IMF is as close to a world dictatorship as we have.
- Immediate repeal of the USA PATRIOT Act.
- Fostering a world of international cooperation.
- Abolishing the death penalty.
- Environmental renewal and clean energy.
First do no harm.
- Creating a moratorium on Genetically Modified Organism (GMO).
- Implementation of H.R. 676, which integrates traditional medicine with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).
There’s no reason people shouldnt have whatever alternative medicine they wish. It’s their body, their risk. Caveat Emptor!
- Ban offshore drilling.
I say drill, baby, drill as long as the environment is respected. There are ways to extract oil without destroying the environment and the devil is in the details. Short version: let them drill and watch them like a hawk.
- Halt all Biochemical Aerial Spraying of Pesticides and other toxins.
Adding poison to the environment is bad, of course.
- Preventing the privatization of social security.
- Providing full social security benefits at age 65.
Social Security is one of the few things we have in the gov’t that actually works. I say beef up Social Security.
- Creating a cabinet-level “Department of Peace“
- Ratifying the ABM Treaty and the Kyoto Protocol.
The ABM Treaty is good. Any defensive weapon can be turned into an offensive weapon. If the Russians don’t have an ABM shield and we do then we can attack with relative impunity. This is a BAD thing. We want balance so no one can attack.
I’m against the Kyoto protocol because I don’t believe in Global Warming. Global Warming is a fraud designed to get people to pay carbon taxes, which I don’t believe in. If the environment is polluted because of oil, then the oil companies should fix it. They profited off it’s destruction and they should pay to clean it up.
- Introducing reforms to bring about instant-runoff voting.
This would make 3rd party candidates viable again. We need instant-runoff voting immediately.
- Protecting a woman’s right to choose while decreasing the number of abortions performed in the U.S.
- Ending the War on Drugs.
- Legalizing same-sex marriage.
Why should the gov’t have any say over who can and can’t get married?
Don’t know enough about this. I’m generally against having ultra-strict border control.
- Restoring rural communities and family farms.
- Strengthening gun control.
Not sure on this one. I still believe that most murders are committed with illegal guns and, therefore, the current laws should be enforced. We also have way too many guns.
- Legalizing medicinal marijuana and decriminalizing non-medical possession.
I’m pro-choice on marijuana. If you disagree then you can “just say no thank you”.
I take the Libertarian stance on almost all social issues. Where Libertarian ideas fall apart is in big business. The federal gov’t is the only thing large enough to stand up to corporations. Gov’t regulation is generally good. Of course, the devil is in the details. But, with federal regulation people can at least get together and do something about it. Good luck trying that with a corporation.
In the end people have to set aside their differences and find the things they can agree on, then fight for that.
